Ginger Root
Ginger is an excellent remedy for nausea, motion sickness, morning sickness and any other time you need to prevent vomiting. It's also a proven anti-inflammatory and it helps boost the digestive system. You can buy the whole root and cook with it, or buy ginger tea or capsules. I'd definitely recommend picking up some ginger capsules and keeping them in the medicine cabinet as a safe, natural remedy for all forms of naseau. You'd also want to bring a few capsules anytime you go anywhere you might get motion sickness like a boat, a long car ride or an amusement park.
- Prevention.com - "Ginger has long been used to treat different types of motion sickness, but the first scientific proof of its effectiveness came in 1982. In this study, ginger (940 milligrams) was shown to be far superior to Dramamine (100 mg.) in relieving symptoms of nausea and vomiting."
- Drweil.com - "Ginger, the familiar spice, has a number of remarkable properties that recommend it for home use. It is a good treatment for nausea and motion sickness as well as a natural anti-inflammatory that is worth trying in all cases of arthritis, bursitis, and other musculoskeletal ailments. It tones the cardiovascular system and reduces platelet aggregation, as aspirin does."
- Webmd.com - "Asian medicine employs it as a treatment for asthma, shortness of breath, water retention, earache, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting; and homeopathic practitioners recommend it for sexual disorders as well."
- Pharmabiz.com - "According to the authors, anti-motion sickness medications have significant side effects, such as dizziness and dry mouth. ''Ginger appears to be an effective herbal alternative to the medications,'' Sun told Reuters."
